Scheduled updates this week.
« on: February 28, 2010, 01:51:38 AM »
So, been a while since I did a major update here. Not many new features have been added lately and I feel it is time for a forum update and upgrade.

I think sometime this week I will make a start on the forum software upgrade then fix us up a nice new theme and add a load of great new features.

Hopefully everything will be in great shape by this time next week and we will  be ready for Rabbit n' hounds 2 with a whole new look.

Yeah should be a smooth update, should you see any errors or messages saying can't connect you will know why.

It should take less than half a day to do the major part of the update, I will try post the day before I start.

AWSOME!!!!! Is the scorecard form part of the update? I still need to know when you want to look at the scorecard to see what we want it to contain and the basic style we had in mind. I know you will make a kick ass card but I just want to stay on top of things.

Currently,no the score card system won't be implemented into the the forum features. As far as I can see this would be far to much work to currently implement it as part of the forum software. I personally don't have time to create, test or implement that kind of system.

What I have almost completed is a score submission form that will e-mail a designated person the exact results of each match as supplied by the team leader. That data then will be added to a simple template and posted by who ever is taking the lead on dealing with scores.  As I told doc, this system is almost completed, I will probably have it finished and working for mid next week sometime.

Nice. On the Bracket Masters site I have a free field. I MAY be able to put the results into there, but am not sure how much it will hold. I'll just have to do a test once it is ready to go.

I have a few scripts for bracketing on our own server. I will see what I can get sorted in the week jet and maybe we can test a few out. Maybe set up a sub domain like tournament.xblsquadrons.com and link to it from the home page.

I got a lot of Ideas how we can improve the system and keep it all under one roof.

That's Fantastic refuse,

Then all can be utilized by all, with you and Fero simply making the tourney organisers recipients of Emails, and mods of the Tourney bracket. I personal don't even mess with that, Jetmech takes care of that for us.

And I never knew the Cards could look and work through this system like that. Jasons example really got me stoked about it. Great News.

Well when you get the card up and running I need to be sure it tracks the same data That me & DoC worked on. I don't want to just have an on site card that is not gonna do what the other one was. I don't much care for the site location as long as things get done and done the way we need them. I would still like to get you to at least look at the card we have before you just up and make your own. This way there is no issue. You will know what DoC wants & I worked my but off trying to get it right. So I aint really in the mood to just have my work tossed out cause it aint on site. CauseI see You DoC & jet going through this stuff but I keep getting ignored. Am I the black sheep around here? Or did I piss off somebody?

? :-[

I haven't seen anything, but a missunderstanding be recognized, and peeps moving on for the sake of the tourney. I told you, your idea being on ready 5, just in case was good to know, but I also know what refuse can do once he sets things in motion.

An on site score card system and the bonus of, if I'm not mistaken, a tourney bracket system, is more preferable to anything off. That all future tourney's, even in our absence, can utilize.

You could just take a picture and post it.

Let a dead dog lay.

Nah. Let's poke it with a stick!
Once it is set I'm sure adding additional fields would just be a matter of copying a line of code. We have plenty of time and in a worst case we have a backup plan: your scorecards and my bracket site. So don't sweat the petty stuff, just pet the sweaty stuff!

LOL! nice one jet.

Doc my point is only that you Jet and others get replied to and im ignored. I just want to be sure its done thats all. I understand the point you make about he gets things dine. I just have not been informed by him. It is all 3rd person info. If he is working on it And he has to have seen all the stuf I posted about it he could/should have told me not you guys. I was the one who made the original card not you. I set it up to record the info we need not you. You said it yourself that I need to get with him about thew tech part to the card. Well it has been three days and nothing at all has been directed towards me at all. You have gotten some responce from him about it but I aint got nothing from him. I was jusrt worried cause I got no responce.

Now were is my stick. I need to poke a dead dog again hehehe.

Well Jason,

He is working on an ENTIRE SITE upgrade, with the inclusion of OUR CARDS and a TOURNEY bracket system. All that can be used by all tourney's. We do not create them all.

I've personally, on the Box, apologized to you for your efforts, and am sorry we prolly wont be utilizing that.

I took a nice long break, I'm in the mitts of a tourney, so my patience is at an all time high. Don't poke that dog anymore! OR I'll turn into ManimalLECTOR on your ass...ka-peesh?

Post a Pic if you want, and lets have faith in the fact refuse is also working his butt off producing exactly what we need!
