well, we won't really be shooting each other, just a course with some cardboard targets set up and we get timed how long it takes us to get through the course. I did the same thing last year with a borrowed gun that was provided at the event. Didn't miss a single shot, but I took too much time to aim for each shot, and ignored one well hidden target. What I shot at, I hit dead center, though. Besides not wanting to borrow a gun this year, I also wanted to practice getting off quicker shots. So on weekends I'll go out into the backyard, set up some copy paper from about 50 feet, and fire away. What we also did last year was set up dominoes 50 feet away and see who could knock down their set of ten first. the only difference is we used AEG's for that one, and a quality rifle was way out of my budget. And from 50 feet, Dominoes are absolutely microbial. even though I was the first one to knock down all ten, it took me about 1.5 minutes and who-knows-how-many shots to get them all. But that part wasn't judged. it was just for fun. We also had a guy and a lady from the army come in and participate. they came in ACU's and destroyed the rest of us. One guy, who happened to be my commander, was in the U.S. Army Airborne Rangers, Russian Spetznaz, and both american and russian police forces. Don't ask me how he did all that. But he had the best time. the course whas designed to be about a minute, and he blew through it in less than 40 seconds.
But the gun comes tomorrow, and mu buddies are coming over just to gawk at the thing, because I guess they have never seen a gun anywhere but the ranges.
