Sounds like it is just the Air Force's version that was grounded. There is no mention of the Navy's version. I know here in Oregon, at Kingsley field our F-22's as well as the 173rd Fighter Wing of F-15 Eagles are operational. I think that happened at the Weapons System Evaluation Program (WSEP), out of  TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Six F-15 aircraft and nearly 100 personnel made their way from Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls, Ore. across the country to the Florida panhandle in support of F-22 flying operations at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City. Here is the link to Oregon's 173rd Fighter Wing.

Funny part is they make no mention of the F-22's that are at Kingsley Field. You can see them from the road when you drive by...lmao. Anyway...just thought I would point that out.

I thought Air Force was the only division to get F-22s

Well would explains why the navy decided to retire the FA-18 then, and from what i understand the F-22 funny enough was originally suppose to be a naval plane, but they saw the air force was a bit weak in that field and much for out of date they gave the project to them, from what I understand.

F-23 > F-22
Enough said.
Anyways, the navy was going to make the F-22 into a carrier aircraft, but the program got canned. it was the NATF (Naval Advanced Tactical Fighter).

Honestly I think they should have pushed through with the NATF and chosen the F-22 (Beautiful F-22 design BTW) for the NATF and the F-23 for the Airforce (As it should have been.)
