Topic: Thinkin of startin a tourney. Anyone interested?

It's just for glory, no official prizes. But I was thinkin of doing it in Sim only. Kind of like a balls to the wall kind of thing. Anyone interested? If so I will set up the details.

I'd be in as well, but I still don't have IL-2. I'm working on it, but it could be a while before I aquire the game due to financial constraints.

I would rather have 5 root canals then play that game on sim. You spend more time fighting the aircraft then you do the enemy. Lol Its just not good enough of a game to bother practicing on that setting. Not to mention all the other problems with it.

Well Fero I am gonna have to disagree with you there, but that's fine. The sim thing isn't set in stone either. But at the bare minimum it would be realistic or sim. Some of my options would be to let the given winners of a round choose the map and difficulty.

I think a tourney is a good idea go for it. Anything to help get some interest and people flying. It seems to be growing but very slowly (maybe people are waiting on the patch)
 Anyway I will fly if you put something togehter might be able to get a few people also.

i agree with Fero on this, in fact im gonna phone the dentist for a root canal today so i dont even have to think bout flying on sim

I am fine with the folks that dont want to play it on sim. No real reason to come on in and crap all over it though. *shrugs* But since there was a lack of interest I am withdrawing the suggestion.

...itwasnt a bad idea Fen, with all the hype over this game before release it was a big let-down to the real players. Theres just nobody playing this game..issues and piss poor advertising doomed it before it hit the shelves. For us hardcore sim junkies it was fun as hell when we got it but like Fero said..playing on sim proved too difficult for most. Now there are very few who have stuck with it and finding MP games is nearly impossible, you might find a few 10-12 player rooms once and awhile but not enough to keep playing for a long time. Guess we'll just have to wait for the sequel.

From what I have read it was not the developers fault it was the publisher, they were dragging their heels on a patch for xbox since before xmas. Although PS3 has got one already they are having the same problems with lack of interest, which sucks, the game has really been given no chance of being popular.

Looks like we will just have to wait for the sequel...

Yeah well I hope it gets a bit more tweaking so that the flight system is a bit more controlable for rookie gamers at first. There needs to be a flight training set of missions to teach the gamers how to fly and then give them there wings so they can then go and play the game. I think that will go a long way at boosting the life of the game. We can only teach so many paople before the game turns into work just to make it fun. It is no fun at all to fly against noobs who can't even fly.

Au contraire, my friend. When you have my middle-of-the-road skills, where you're not good enough to mix it up with the pros, but still good enough to slap some sense into noobs, you take every kill you can get and like it.

The actual game is perfect imo. Just the small things need sorting like control mapping, online score system and cockpits for all the planes. Remember AC6 had a terrible scoring system before the first update.
