IL2 Update information.
« on: September 22, 2009, 10:17:25 PM »
Anton from 1C games has announced the contents of the first update for the game. It was posted a while ago but I had totally overlooked the post.

I am most looking forward to custom control mapping, I didn't like the standard controls much, hopefully we will be able to map them to be like the Over G controls which I think are far better.

What will be in title update:
This list will be updated, when I'll get more information.

Common for all platforms:
Controls remapping (custom layout).
Changed MP kills scoring system. Suicide will always reduce score; crash (or bailout) soon (one minute) after signifficant damage will score to shooter; crash (or bailout) after 12 seconds after being hit even lightly will score to shooter.
Brakes with flightstick fix.
(For Arcade& realistic) RS will look around with 'half pressed' target camera trigger.
More effective flak.
Blackouts and redouts on realistic/simulation back again.

PlayStation3 only:
Screen-tearing fixes.
PC flightstick support (with custom layouts).
Flightstick deadzone customization.
USB mouse support (for mouse look)

The date of title update will be announced later.

Nice. Control mapping will definitely help me out. I keep moving the throttle inadvertently and it really messes me up.

...im waiting on the score to shooter fix. Too many times Ill damage an enemy plane so bad they crash and get no credit for the kill. Not too many players crash intentionally, most just lose control either from dammage or trying to turn too hard without the neccessary speed to pull it off.

well, i hope they get the control mapping, and not just pre-generated sets, but full customise. too many buttons on the wrong side of the av8r flightstick

Hey Ref, i was playing il2 on simulator and spent 10mins trying to shoot down my teammate. Am i missing something cause not having a little red thing around the enemy makes it hard.

Lmao, nope your not missing anything dude. Its a sim, you don't get a red marker on your enemy in real life. Remember before the days of radar on board it was all down to sharp eyesight and listening to the info you get over radio. I personally find that's where the fun is, I want to do as much as possible without any assistance, not worth playing if the challenge is done for me. :D

i do agree, it is a good way to play it, im just gonna need to make sure ive got plenty of time b4 i start. i did the sim training and it said i had to destroy 2 trucks on a range. never found the trucks so i bombed the range for 15 or so mins till the stage ended (musta accidently hit em)

damn this is gonna be challenging ha ha ha
