Topic: what's so great about grears of war & call of duty?

i have played gears of war 2 and call of duty black ops. i don't really understand all of the hype about those games. call of duty just seems like they keep on repackaging the game over and over and just give it a new look. and gears of war 2 looks like a kid drew it. i mean the way the characters are drawn is unique, but they are ugly? can someone explain what makes those good games?

Omega, its probly the same thing that makes AC6 or BFBC or HALO of etc. desirable to those that are die hard fans, a matter of opinion and taste..... For me its Mass Effect, Army of Two, Rainbow Six Vegas 1&2, and others it is Borderlands and others still its Fallout..... Sometimes its just the fact that it looks cool that gets the motor revved...... Mostly though I think its just being able to join with or fight against your friends that rocks a game..... Just my thoughts

Competition....Agressivness.....Blowing off some ones virtual head.....Updates....... Team work...Those are a few of the things that makes those type games (Cod, Gears,Halo) Fun. We at O.T.G. love em. The since of a feroshus fight is cool. U dont need a tourney to make em interesting( No shot at tourneys or AC6 or Doc love em all!!) They hold there own cause the developers (Halo fo sure) Keep adding stuff for years. I hope the new Ace adapts that practice. Ace got those things right except 2 things. There ranked matches ment nothing!!! (Leader Boards jacked up and DLC was for player match) And the updates stopped within a year.(maybe sooner than that.) Fatal flaws I hope that dont repeat. Not that the other game did not have issues but even when things got jacked up you had your own personal leaderboards etc.

additionally, a bunch of the reason is bragging rights and some little punk wants to make himself feel better than others by killing alot because he's not hung like an elephant, so that he can compensate for his inferiority complex... thats one part of the issue but i just cant really get into any cod story line, gears, eh, ok a little, but halo, HELLS YEAH, stuff that happens in the future, sure but its in the future we dont know if its gonna be like that, thats the thrill for me. cod is based in presentish time but the present is boring as hell for me anyway, let alone the past, (history lover but not in vid games) i dont know why people likes those kinds of games, its just a opinion...

black ops was garbage when i played laggy as hell total garbage. ya see someone they kill ya instantly wit a single shot boom ur dead now i know some ppl are good but 99 percent of ppl can't hit someone wit the first bullet everytime like they were. within a sec of seeing them even hidding behind stuff they get a 1 shot kill wit first bullet stupid.  bad company is way better in my opinion no messed up leaderboards or obviously boosted ones anyways. the number one guy play agkdid not buy blacainst him once and you'll see why he is number one.  a lot less lag if ya allow the overseas guys to join american parties in the dedicated servers.  i didnot buy black ops i received it when i bought a new xbox 360. black ops total garbage and i refuse to give activision anymore of money til they decide to make a good game instead of repackaged garbage.

fyi, activisions stock dipped by 10% also they cut off development of guitar hero.
