CoD: Modern Warfare 2
« on: February 03, 2009, 05:48:32 AM »
That's right kiddos, Activision's hugely successful Call of Duty franchise is spawning another sequel limb with today's semi-official announcement that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is in development and set for release Fall 2009.

The announcement comes from a Microsoft sponsored Massive Inc. upfront where publishers showcase and talk about upcoming products to lineup advertisers prior to release. Activision didn't have any specifics to announce regarding the title, other than the fact that we'll be receiving a second helping of Modern Warfare late next year.

Anyone beyond excited for more CoD, especially a sequel to CoD4 which is arguably the best of the franchise?

Meh. COD World at War is better than COD 4 in my opinion. A sequel to 4 will just be a clone.

Isn't that pretty much what WaW is?  Anyway, everthing IW does is gold, and the amount of community input they are receiving will certainly have a positive effect on how the game turns out.

The reason i never got cod waw is because i already had the game in its original state, Its true believe it or not! I had cod4 and it was great.

No way would i even consider buying cod4 re-skinned and poorly modified. I was on the first beta team for COD:WaW and the only feedback i gave them was "Don't release this game, Don't make another game ever again in fact..."
