Omegagreyknight's "Come Hell and Brimstone" Survival Guide
« on: November 21, 2010, 12:10:00 AM »
Today I'm making a Blog entry for my Friend Omega,

As he has worked hard on a Guide that will help peeps survive what "Could be" coming our way, in our life times. I hope this will not be needed, but as World events have shown, it would appear we are now living in a perilous time, in which the morality and integrety of man is being tested by God himself. And for the most part, I'm afraid we are failing.

Post note, this is not my work, all the credit goes to Omega for this Guide. I took it upon myself to report on Economic events, and trying to get peeps interested in securing their financial futures, while Omega choose to concentrate on another avenue that may lay down the road in front of us.

First off you have to understand one thing. There is no true way to prepare for a collapse of the economy. But with the right knowledge and tools you can make life a lot easier on you.  The only time you have to worry about something like this, are when governments start to fall and are unable to protect their people. If something like this does happen there are three things you must remember defense, food & water, and friendship.

I have been looking at the news lately and the only thing that it has been showing is bad news. Things are going to get worse before they get better. After I came to that conclusion, I tried to look up information online about how to survive if society fell apart. Well I found nothing, just little information scattered everywhere. the information that i did find basically said run to the woods, and i figured most people was going to be like me and stay with family in a city or town. so i decided to make a survival guide around that way of thinking. So Adammax10, Jimbob, Jus Doc Holiday, and I OmegaGrayKnight decided to put together a thread about how to not only survive but how to create things with the items around you.  And here is your warning.

Some of the information that you will receive on this thread will be dangerous. Only try this if you have no other option. We and the site will not be responsible for any injuries.

I have to give you that warning just in case you try something and it goes wrongs.

We will be covering several subjects such as How to create electricity, how to clean water, how to make soap & how to make fuel. Just to name a few. We will go into detail, but if you find one of the subjects interesting let me know and I can send you a few sites addresses. But if you want a copy of that subject  just let me know and I can send you a Microsoft word document with that subject. Now if you do look up information that we have already put down and you find a conflict between both sets of information let us know and will verify which information is correct. If you have a subject that you think would be good for this let me know and I will let you put it up. Just make sure you have it written down so I can have a copy.

We will cover a subject once every two weeks. Some subjects will be longer than others. Some subjects will be broken down in to chapters.  All subjects will have subject before its name example subject: clean water.

Subject: core beliefs

If something like this does happen, the first thing that you will have to realize is the fact that some rules will change and you will have to do things that you would normally never do. You have to be able to turn away the hungry, steal, eat the family pet, defend what is yours and maybe even kill.  The main rule that would be changed will be the rule of ownership. Ownership will no longer be about who bought it. But it will about who have it. Your core beliefs will be tested and some of them will fail. And some may even get you killed. Remember one thing; the faster you accept reality, the easier it will be to survive.

The next subject will be on needed items.

Subject: needed items

There are a few items that you must have in order for any of the following information to work. You will need knowledge of your surroundings for Example Rivers, lakes, unique escape routes.  You need tools, a map, an ac/dc inverter, a few days worth of food, some type of caring case, and some type of weapon, a jumping cable for cars, a small medical kit and the most unique item of them all welding rods. With those items you will be able to use anything that you can find. You should already have most of those items in your home already.  I will list them in the level of import ants and go threw them in detail
1.   Food and water
2.   Medical kit
3.   Ac/dc inverter
4.   Caring case
5.   Tools
6.   Map and compass
7.   Welding rods
8.   Weapon
9.   Matches or a lighter
10.   Proper clothing

Food and water - the reason why food and water is at the top of the list is simple, without food and water you will die. You can live without food for only a couple of weeks, but you can only live without water for a couple of days. When starting out you want a minimum of a couple of days of food. With proper rationing of food you can turn a couple of days of food last for a week. With water, never drink unfiltered water because it can make you sick. I will cover filtering water at a later date. If you have to pass threw a very hot area do not carry water in a clear container, because it can ruin the water.  Just remember this, the better you ration your food and water the weaker you will become, physically and mentally. I will be covering this in greater detail later on.

First-aid kit - the first-aid kit came in second because you will need medical supplies in the future. Without a first-aid kit you could die from a simple scratch.  You can purchase a first-aid kit for about $30. Or you can put one together yourself.  It should contain these items.

•   Two pairs of Latex, or other sterile gloves (if you are allergic to Latex).
•   Sterile dressings to stop bleeding.
•   Cleansing agent/soap and antibiotic towelettes to disinfect.
•   Antibiotic ointment to prevent infection.
•   Burn ointment to prevent infection.
•   Adhesive bandages in a variety of sizes.
•   Eye wash solution to flush the eyes or as general decontaminant.
•   Thermometer (Read more: Biological Threat)
•   Prescription medications you take every day such as insulin, heart medicine and asthma inhalers. You should periodically rotate medicines to account for expiration dates.
•   Prescribed medical supplies such as glucose and blood pressure monitoring equipment and supplies.
•   First-Aid manual

And these items are a good idea to have in it also.

•   Aspirin or nonaspirin pain reliever
•   Anti-diarrhea medication
•   Antacid (for upset stomach)
•   Laxative
•   Scissors
•   Tweezers
•   Tube of petroleum jelly or other lubricant

AC/DC INVERTER– An AC/DC INVERTER is good turning DC electricity in to AC electricity. Vehicle batteries run off of DC electricity. Homes and home electronics run off of AC electricity. Basically most electronics run off of AC electricity. You cannot use home electronics off of a vehicle battery without a inverter. Inverters prices start at $30.00. But to get an inverter at a size that you will be able to run a power tools off of you will need to buy a 2300 watts 12volt DC power inverter. This will run you around $250.00.  Or if you don’t want to spend that amount of money, you can wait until everything falls apart then go to the store and take one from the store if they have any left.

CARING CASE – A caring case is good for caring your most important items with you. It should be able to carry most of the items on this list. It helps free up your hands. it is also known as a B.O.B. (bug out bag) the will be cover more on a later date.

TOOLS – everyone should know what tools are. If you don’t you are pretty much screwed. You will have to have something to work with when you need to work on something.  You want to have tools that can do several different jobs. That way you don’t have to have too many tools. The goal here is to minimize the amount you have to carry.  I will go further into detail later in another subject.

MAPS AND COMPASS – maps and a compass will help when you need to find your way around and need to find a water source. Plus they are small and compact. But if you have to choose between the two always pick the compass, because maps usefulness will only be good in the area that it maps out. But you will always be able to use a compass.

WELDING RODS AND JUMPER CABLES – Welding rods are used when you weld two pieces of metal together. I will tell you how to make a DC power welder later on in a different subject. With welding rods making things become a lot easier. The normal use of a jumper cable is used for jumping a car battery with another car battery. But we will be using it to make a DC electric welder. The normal costs of welding rods are around $6.00. I will cover this in a different subject.

WEAPONS – you can use anything as a weapon. Most of the stuff you will be carrying can be used as a weapon. I will go further into detail about weapons later on in a different subject

MATCHES AND LIGHTERS – matches and lighters and one of the most important items you can carry.  Having matches and lighters make starting a fire much easier.

PROPER CLOTHING – proper clothing will depend on what environment you will be staying in.  the main items are boots, pants, a long sleeve and a short sleeve shirt. i will go into further detail on a later date.

subject: traveling video

these sets of videos are good for taking hints on how to survive while traveling. even tho i disagree with some of the methods, i agree with most of them. it shows a family trying to survive. and it have a person from homeland security telling what good things to do and how to do it.

weapons yes, bombs i will see what i can do. weapons will be a long subject.  the next set of subjects will be up next weekend.

A bit of a delayed reaction on this post, but it was thankfully brought to my attention.

No Omega, you will not post anything that even remotely covers the fabrication of bombs on this site. Nor will I allow much leeway when it comes to making weapons either, as it can serve absolutely no purpose. This whole thread is frankly more than a little eccentric, albeit an interesting look into the psyche of paranoia.

Maybe a new hobby is in order? Something a little more positive and life affirming to direct your efforts towards? In partnership with Prozac perhaps?

Lighten up for gods sake. I've almost had it with all the irrational, negative bullshit.

ok, i really didn't want to cover bombs in the first place. i only going to because there was a request for it. plus when i said i was going to cover weapons more meant the up keep and safety of them.

and i am not going out there and building all of this stuff. that would be weird. but not having knowledge of how to do thing would be stupid also. plus the United States government is making the citizens of the United States the enemy. the government is breaking almost every law put in place to protect the citizens from the government. it will only be a matter of time before america riots and this information is needed.

Yeah, that bomb thing would be my bad, Fero. I thought it would be cool, but rules are rules. Although, I hope omega continues the acceptable parts of this thread, as some of this stuff relates not only to post-apocalyptic survival, but also simple back-country camping, or natrual disaster plans.

I admit that the last series of videos was mostly just "If shit hits the fan we're all fucked," but I think those kinds of things are entertaining and interesting, as well as being trivial and unrelated to life as we know it. But hey, remember the old adage about media. "If it bleeds, it leads."

Well.....

I'd say learning bomb making...and saying that what's going on is Delusional...is a bit equal on opposite polar ends. Only a complete idiot would not see what is happening in the world and trust in the status quo...is anything other then a few peeps imagination. However...I stayed silent..but thought bomb making a bit harsh and radical myself.

But I've been just to gawd damned busy working to reply to almost anything....Tho..hey I got off a bit early today, still out of town......so going down to pub to blow the suds off a couple.
