New Investment...100.00 in Junk Silver. 23 quarters 90% or 0.144 for 3.312oz
« Reply #2 on: October 08, 2010, 11:41:40 PM »
Well,

Every little bit adds ups. So I got 100.00 in Junk Silver...90% Quarters.

$5.75 (Face Value or FV) or 23 pre 1964 Quarters..RP of 17.3913 at 90% for 0.144 quantity of Silver in each.

23 x 0.144 troy weight= 3.312 oz added at current silver spot price would be $76.8384 just for the Silver content. The rest is the Age appreciation.

Figuring your Junk silvers real worth.
« Reply #3 on: October 09, 2010, 01:00:29 AM »
OK,

Today I learned how to compute the Real Value of Junk Silver and will be using pre-1964 quarters as the guide for this post.

Now our bullion trackers only track silver content..they are meant for Silver bullion or it's content alone. But Junk Silver..or any coinage worth is figured differently. For Older coins it's Market price based on Age. For Junk Silver it's by dollar denominations..figured for both..age and 90% silver content.

So though I bought 23 1964 quarters or older..I only got 3.312 oz of Silver. At current Silver spot price. It's worth $76.8384.
And that's about as close as you can get to representing it on our trackers.

However,
I have today found out how they rate their Junk Silver..both to sell, or buy from us, and I will explain below. Junk Silver is sold in dollar denominations. Spot price does decide this, but differently. They sell junk Silver in bags of $1000 or $500 dollar face value bags. 1000 is the main multiplier.

IF you were to currently go to the Coinsplus website, on the left hand side under their search bar..you will see a Blue Silver Bullion Sales section. There's a menu in that section. The top selection it says Bullion. Simply put your cursor over it. A completely new menu will appear.

On that menu..right at the top is a selection "1964 & Earlier U.S. Silver Coinage"......click on that. A new page will appear with prices for different things. First section shows current spot and asking prices of Silver on the market. Next section is the sell price for other coins of higher face value then quarters, dimes, and nickles.

Down at the very bottom you will see what they will buy your junk silver for....in $500 and $1000 Dollar FACE VALUE bags. The important one is the 1000 bag. Look at that price. Currently as I look at it..it is $15,592.72. Now divide that by 1000.

You get 15.59272

Now I've made two purchases of Junk Quarters. The Rate price listed on those two receipt's was 17.3913 for today's, and 16.2029 for Sept 30's. So you can see the difference..or what I must over come to produce the real profit of Junk silver.

On the 30Th of Sept..I bought 34.5 dollars of Junk silver at a rate price of 16.2029. It cost 559.00.
Today I bought 5.75 dollars of junk silver at 17.3913. It cost 100.00
Total: 659.00

Now Quarters dimes and nickles..are all considered junk silver..so you can simply add the face dollar amount of each to come up with your total.
34.5+5.75=40.25

Today...(And the price presented does change as the market for junk silver does on their site, in real time..you must simply refresh the page. But it's changes aren't anything like the metals markets and since I've been on,  the silver spot price changed...the junk silver price hasn't).......
I could sell 40.25 of Junk Silver at their buying price of 15.592.72.
So current real value of all my junk silver is: $627.60698

If you didn't understand something...ask me in the shout box when I'm logged into XBL.

So..I've shown you the best way to put it on our bullion trackers according to Silver content (remember to record current spot price when bought for this)...and I've shown you how to reach it's real value, as it it sold to us buy coin shops.

New Investment Today of 83.00 in Junk Silver. Info on 1981 or pre pennies!
« Reply #4 on: October 12, 2010, 01:30:01 AM »
First things first,

Made a very small investment in Junk Silver in Dimes. Doesn't matter since, you can add Nickles, Dimes, and Quarters of 1964 or earlier together.

Came to 4.80 (FV) in dimes at RP of 17.29167. or 83.00.
Current sale price is 15,626.33 for a bag of 1000...so 15.626.33

This added 48  x 0.072 TROY oz of Silver = 3.456 to my Bullion tracker.

Spot Price for Silver was 23.37 x 3.456 = $80.76672

New Investment will be reflected in next Friday Night Market Close Bullion Tracker Close.

ON a side note today, I found out that 1981 Pennies have a much higher copper content them in them then normal Pennies. I forgot to the get the difference, thus to best judge it's worth, but what I can tell you, is my emailers have hundreds of article praising copper future price!

As such Today I bought a coin magnifying glass for 10 bucks, so I can go through m,y regular coin jar at home, and get all Junk silver and Highly copper content pennies out and save them. Court at coins plus also said, when hunting for free Junk Silver...buying rolls of Nickles is prolly best, cause more slip through system that way. NEXT Till I get extra cash..or Even bill money I may try buying 10 rolls and see how many I find to see if the effort is worth it or not!

Also,

Coinsplus is still working on it's website to show the value of all kinds of indivisual coins. So I asked Court if there was a site we could use in stead, that kept up to daily or weekly changes, untill their Website was completed. He suggested Coininfo.com. Which if correct, after I check it out..with list on the first post of this blog recording all important information.

Well I wondered why I lacked the Silver Content in Nickles. I had it for Dimes, Quarters, and Half Dollars..but not them.

Nickles are Different. 1942,43,44,45..are made out of Silver. But those must have the mint mark above the capitol building on the back...which I don't have a clue what that is yet. However, I do have the day off...so I will go to Coinsplus and buy a booklet of some sort. Plus Court said on the phone he would show me personally what he is talking about.

However..he himself searches for these Nickles. They come in rolls of 20 dollars. Today I will buy at least 40 bucks worth..and see what results I get. As for turning them in...some banks count change for free as an account holder. I will be checking Bank of America for this. The ones who aren't free..there's a 5 dollar charge..or 1%.

Here's a Website to help you at least get started on finding out what some coins are worth..other then their Face Value:
http://lynncoins.com/free-silver-guide.htm

Now I'm off to the bank..then coinsplus...then home..or even Bank again! lol! Treasure Hunting can be fun..we will see!

I will update my Investment sheet showing the 42-45's dated Nickles and Junk silver value stuff!

New Investment: Bought 4 oz Silver Bullion Rounds for $25.00 apiece.
« Reply #8 on: October 13, 2010, 06:48:00 PM »
Actually,

At 10 AM PST..when CoinsPlus opened, I was there. Would have cost me 25.09 RP..but Gave me the extra .09 off..for 25.00 even.

That Means Spot Price reached 24.09, from the time I left..went to a bank to turn change in, and go to CoinsPlus even before it opened. This morning before I left it was 23.70 something...currently it has slid down a bit but hovering at 23.90 Spot Price.

As always new investment will be shown on above Investment list, and included in Friday nights Market close Report!

New Investment... 6 oz Silver Bullion Rounds...at 24.45 RP
« Reply #9 on: October 23, 2010, 10:34:22 PM »
So,

Silver went down this week...after more then 5 weeks of a climb. Heard of it coming...tho China un-pegging the Yuan from the Dollar, then raising interest rates on both Loans and savings accounts help some I'm sure. But, the over all forecast has not changed, And with QE2 kicking off soon with the Nov 3rd Fed meeting, I expect further rises till right around New Years Day or a bit after or before. Then a slow down...with a much slower rise..until May, at which time it will again the worse season for metals.

So, I went out and bought 6 more Silver Bullion Rounds, at the RP of 24.45, which is less then my last purchase...for $146.50. Tho I'm able to purchase less then I had been, I am managing to invest some. I'm still hoping to get a total of 250 oz by Xmas.

I am putting up a tracker report after this and new purchase will be added to it.

QE2 is coming, continued Devaluation of Dollar/Major NEW Investment $4844.40
« Reply #10 on: October 28, 2010, 08:49:19 AM »
Well,

I fully expect the new QE2 I been reading about, to happen soon, if not on NOV. 3Rd. As such, it will mean the dollar will fall, metals will rise, and those of you waiting to see if all this shit is going to happen or not, will just have to pay more to get into the game. As stated, even though I did not follow Family Tradition, that's not to say I don't have some credible assets in my corner. Using my present 7400.00 dollar in metals as collateral, I got an additional 5000.00 loan, with no interest, and really no time limit, not really, but that which I will set. But most likely a year. I will either pay if off, or pay off some of it, then when I sell some for my new truck...that is if I dont see the need to hold on to it, cause future inflation is a bitch! But I guess time and history will tell. It's to late to go back, I spent 4,844.40 on further metals investments today.

What I'm counting on is the rise in the price of precious metals, to help accomplish this. Hence, Maybe I only actually pay back half.. or less, if you count the profit from the metals future rise.

All these will be reflected in my future tracker reports, but the following purchases were made today, to be added to my inventory:

Gold:           2 20 Dollar Swiss Frank Weight .1867 Troy oz/ 0.3734  Rate Price $1440.81414        Cost: 538.00
Palladium:   2 1 oz Swiss Palladium oz's                                            Rate Price $655.00                Cost: 1310.00
Silver:         4 1 oz Silver Bullion Rounds                                            Rate Price  $24.60
7 10 oz Silver Bullion Bars                                               Rate Price $24.60                  Cost: 1820.40

Junk Silver:  90% pre 1964 quarters FV 68.25                                  Rate Price: $17.23077           Cost: 1176.00

TOTAL COST OF NEW INVESTMENT: $4844.40

Realize..this investment with it's new RP's will destroy my profit margins and Percentages in my next Tracker Report, or more...but once I clear them..my profit margins will almost double in the long run. I have 16 additional oz of silver that are between 24.46 and 25.00 for silver. When Silver Spot price reaches 26.00, I'll be a dollar or more past all of them, and everything, will be earning money for me.

Not including my Morgans or Eagles...I now have a Total of 240 oz of Silver Bullion. That means once I get passed $25.00 an oz..every rise of a dollar will be worth 240.00 to my portfolio, in striaght Silver Bullion alone! And that's in addition..to how far I have already come with my lower purchases since June 23Rd.

I hope this works out..like I have faith it will.

Well the days of dollar spot price is over for Coin'sPlus anyway. It's the same rate of a fee mind ya...but as the Spot Price moves up..so does the rate price. IT stays the same percentage...but not dollar amount...dig it baby? Like 10% of 10 is 1...but 10% of 100 is 10..or close to that anyway. Instead of 1 dollar it becomes 10 bucks, but is actually same percentage..as explained to me.

Anyway, I took last night casinos winnings, and my Pay check from Floormart...took out my middle of month bills, and some food money...and came up with 750.00 bucks to invest. Since one of my first goals was to reach 250oz of Silver Bullion by Xmas, I bought a 10 oz bar..which will bring me to 250oz's in Bars and Rounds on the nose.
I believe the spot price was somewhere around 26.60 when I bought it...but the cost of the 10 oz bar was 280.00 bucks. That's makes it 1.40 above spot.
OF course I been telling you for months it would get more expensive...but this now multiples the effect.

I also picked up 24.00 Face Value 1964 90% quarters at RP of 19.58333..but from now on to make my trackers look better...I will simply round up or down, from the 100Th spot...so we will call it 19.58. It's cost was 470.00 dollars on the nose.

These new investments will be included in my new Friday Night Bullion and Junk Silver Market Close Tracker Report.
