That's right,
We are going to do it again. I picked the title nightmare..because usually it ain't about the planes, but the tourney themselves! hehehehe.
Game Judges will be Jus DoC HoLiDaY and Jetmech72
Tourney Rules:
Best 2 out of 3 rounds in a match, 3Rd match not required if one team wins twice in a row.
7 Man teams...At least 3 subs required and listed.
TB5
"Oh...we are running on TB4 as well!"
10 minutes rounds
NPC's off
Weapons Level 3
Novice permitted
Crash strategy restrictions does not apply for this tourney.
Required Aircraft:
1 and only 1 CFA ARMED with a Rail gun
Aircraft restrictions:
Only Two aircraft armed the same. Doesnt matter plane type either.
Example..you can have 1 SU-47 and 1 F22 armed with Qaams..but you cant have Two Su-47's and 2 F-22 armed as such, that's illegal. I want everyone to be able to fly their individual planes for max particapation.
Tourney Type will be determined by number of teams entered:
1-5 teams..Round robin with championship final
6-9 teams double elimination with Losers Bracket Champions playing Winners Bracket Champion's in a winner takes all final.
10- or more single elimination
7 days to run matches
Per Tier
...Starting on Oct. 11Th, from Monday to 7PM PST on Sunday.
Start Date: Oct 11Th with end of registration on Friday Oct 8Th
There will be a Battle Order drawing for the tourney sheet at noon on Oct. 9Th where I simply put names in a Hat and draw them out for position on the Tourney Bracket sheet.
That gives you more then a month..to form your teams...practice..and strategize. The possible combinations for this event are massive, with the only real restriction being the armaments. Only one CFA, armed with a rail gun.
So you got:
XMA4's
XMA6's
QAAMS
SAAM's
FAB's
Rockets
ECMP's
Only 6 spots to fill up, with only two of one type permitted. Your going to have to use your heads..put the right pilots in the right planes..using the right armaments!
See ya Soon,
And AC7 afterwards.

As always Jason,
Your competitive spirit brings you first in line. Ace's had it's first meeting as well last night, so that makes two Squadrons participating already. We however..will be entering just 1 team. I've talked with Rogue, and Darkness, and a few others as well. So..with in 24 hours of announcing it...we already have enough teams for a Round Robin event, should we get no more. Very good.
Sorry about the CFA...I Know some peeps don't like it, but it's a promise I needed to keep, before we all move on to AC7. We ran a few matches on TB5, with not even close to 14 peeps on the battle field, and it was wild Jason, as I'm sure your own practices will show you. Freaking Wild..saamer saaming over mountains..Fuel bombs exploding..and the sudden death from the rail guns. It's going to be first class.
By the end of this weekend, I will have my room, and all the usual sheets draw up...including the Roster sheet. And we will make your entry official then Jason. Give My hardy welcome to all your Team, DoC said very well done!

lol!
I knew at least one person would be happy. I thought of everyway, I might included a CFA, without destabilzing the whole board, and giving regular aircraft at least a 50/50 chance on the field. I hope this is exceptible to all you CFA fanatics out there. I'm glad your pleased Ripsta.

I tried Jason,
To many saamers..I thought that was a bad idea..by un-restricting the number of aircraft armed the same way. The CFA..did need to be at least dealt with, in a feasible fashion, but if you have to many on one team, proficient, not a good idea..overbearing once more, in regards to Saam's. Anyone who have been in a match with 4 or 5 Skull's at a time..know this as fact.
Since I didn't limit number of A10's...the A10 Idolmaster bothered me too. But again..a limit of maybe two, seemed good enough to negate what might be an overbearing factor.
Turning Npc's off, Well I didn't view ESM as a problem..except...like on stage 4..only one side gets it, at a time, and I have seen matches where only one team gets it, the whole time. Couldn't have that.
So the Two armaments rule was needed, but left enough power on the board to deal with a CFA, or at least give that ability to those who put the right Gamer pilots in the right aircraft, armed within the guidelines. I only had the Ace's matchs to go by, and could be viewed as bias, but with your input, and fortunately, agreement, I see that perhaps..I have again picked a winning combo while allowing an aircraft I have never allowed before.
Thanks Jason. I'm always eager to hear different points of view, and as early as it is, even consider small changes..this early into the Event. I'm not perfect..nor a AC6 Gawd..human and can make mistakes. Input is as important as the original idea ever was.

the Aces Squad agree to all of the rules they seem fair and just. and just remember all team captains, you and the players that you pick must play honorably. and like always try not to start or get into any trouble. you are now a representative of doc and his tournaments, so you should act like it.
and one question. what is the given rule on lag? i say if there is lag you can quit in the first 2 minutes but after that it does not count. i just want to clear that up so there will be no misunderstanding in the future.

That rule,
Would fall under the new guidelines, or up dated anyway, concerning drops as well. That rule is for drops, the first 5 mintues. IF a drop occures in first 5 mintues then you can restart the match once. I dont see any difference with a major lag issue either. Any team can stop the match because of lag, if they choose too, but more then one witness must have seen it.
But then again, Considering my two Team Leader/Rep's are adults and playing with Honor, I have always given them permission to find solutions to these things, themselves at the time of the match. My rules are only used, when this system breaks down, and they are not able to find common ground on these issues themselves.

True. Two groups of guys who are just trying to have some fun with these match settings will get over any hurdles they see. But jerks who want to just win to make a name will try to push this or that to there advantage. With the list of teams I have seen that are going to be in the tourney I doubt there will be any problems.
DoC has too many friends and killer pilots on his side to make him an enemy by breaking up his tourneys or causing him stress. Don't believe me, lol I have been on the wrong end of his gun before.......just take my word for it........not fun. Play nice, play fair & play by his rules and we will all get along fine. Its always been fun and always will be if these are followed.

Very nicely put,
I'm not a control freak, I do not feel the need to be some sort of AC6 Gawd. But tourney's need guidelines, and direction. And he who directs this, must first and fore most have the confidence and support of the community. I've have always tried to be an impartial, and objective judge, and often..if you go back through the threads, have wrecked my own rules "How they should run" for "how they actually run" more times then can be counted. But it's always for the same reason....to further the whole event, and matches themselves along, to a righteous conclusion. What does that entail? A successful match being run, so that the whole tourney ends up being as true as it can be.
My first line of defence is the Teamleader/Rep strategy. And for the most part..65% percent of the time, two responsible adults, who have the interest of the tourney at heart, making completion of their assigned match, there ultimate goal...can come to a satisfactory conclusion without my meddling..or questioning of their approach to this. IF it ends up with a conclusion, and both parties are at least in agreement for the most part on this.....it fly's with me, and it's the way it should work.
20% of the time, when this system breaks down, then my rules and guidelines, after having run so many tourneys, dealing with so many different peeps and situations will take care of the rest. Generally...by going by them, I dont have to actually get involved either, as they are written down, easy to understand, and all must fly by them.
The last 15% of the time, requires my direct intervention. When the Teamleader system breaks down, and or my rules dont cover special situations, then I personally get involved. IF I made just having a commanding hand my focus, in the past, and believe myself as being all powerful and knowing...I would just assign blame..toast the offender, and I have toasted both, issued whatever disqualifications and moved on....but that is my last choice, and always has been..though allot easier the sorting through the garbage of an unsuccessful meeting of teams.
But most times..I'm willing to bend, and break my own rules, if it means, that sure..special consideration for this match was required, that a temporary solution needed to be found, but it ends up with a successful match.
I hate disqualifications...they make that match, then the whole tourney a farce, and not a real competition, nor a true measure of anyone's real skill. IF a tourney is full of those..why even try to run one.
