i dream that the world could stop fighting for just one year, which would give the human race enough resourses and man power to solve most of the planets problems. 600 billion a year devoted to war, are we insane? obviously

like school children fighting over concepts of right and wrong, with no end to the cycle in sight. But the violence will never end, humanity does not want to put the sword down

People say, oh its not so simple, its not black and white. This is true, mankind has to deal with the history of war and the future of war. Still, i cant help but think of the waste, its not just tragic, its evil. (im not christian but im sure the bible sppeks poorly of war and wealth)

IF you want to bring the bible into this I can do that. Yet you will not like its point of view about war. It is very simple and very strict about it. If you have a foe who is a threat to you in your mind. You give one warning. This warning consists of three options. 1) they can stop there actions and pay you a tribute tax. 2) they will stop there actions and be your perpetual slaves till the death of there people. 3) you wipe out every aspect and living creature of there people and its beliefe. These are th only options the bible gives for war. It sets for a very harsh and fast process. There are no deals made no talks ever had. It is simple. You live your live do not even involve yourself in the afairs of others. If you see on your borders a threat you and every male in the land goes out to war and does one of the three things it dictates. After this is done the army disbands and goes back to life. Most of all you would not have a standing army to go to war for you. All men must go. It has some rules to allow you to stay out of it but few ever took them. These rules are if you had new lands that had not produced a crop (been paid off) Had a cjild under the age of 12-13 (most went anyways to protect them)Had a new wife who you had not known for a year. (under one year of marrige) Or had a family that would not have anyone to provide for them if your death took place. (ecause there is no option of wellfare in the bible, it is the job of your family and then your neighbors to care for each other. The government was not even to exist 24/7 it was only when other nations threatend you and your people that you had the Elders/mayors/gpovenors/senator/leaders/priests/profits come together and deal with the issue at hand. It was standard procedure to have a nation of free people who took care of themselves.)

FERO. How do you get peace? You can't buy it from those who want your death. The price would be your life. You cant steal it from those who want power over you they will enslave you. Peace at the cost of freedom is called slavery. If you want peace you have no choice but to buy it with the BLOOD of WAR. The winner gets peace. The loser gets death or slavery. With human nature there is no other way. If you don't agree just look at history. There has never been peace for more than a few years at a time. People get greedy they get hatefull. They want poer over others. They envy what others have and try to take it by force. It has been this fact that we have so much WAR in the history of te world. Any person who does not have the stomache for combat to gain personal peace can stay at home and hope the enemy forgot they lived there. I am ready and look forward to the time when my blood is asked of me to gain peace for me and those I love. My life blood is worth that peace.

You must take the whole of the word to get its standards. Not just what some did once they had been caught. They displayed freedom even when they could be called death slaves. It was the singing that proved they were free from the power of those who saught to kill not there life but their faith. They faught till the death and proved their faith stronger than death. That is why Rome fell. It tried to kill faith by death. Thet will never work. You cant kill faith by force of arms. You wold have to kil every person who had ever heard of it and destroy every trace of its existance on the face of the planet. It has been tried and every time it was, it failed. Never has it worked.

Basicly the whole of the word tells us to live our lives in peace with all things untill they threaten us. Then we fight with all we have and completely destroy that which stood against us. After this we go back to selling flowers or making homes. Freedom has a price and it must be paid. You cant force all mankind to just understand that they could achieve much more than they hav if they drop this petty waring. The nature of mankind is always at war with itself. Just watch children for an hour. You will see all aspects of human nature. Some will play nice others will fight with each other over the blue ball. Some fight over the girl. While others protect the weeker among them. Its always ben this way and unless we change our nature it alwys will be this way.

this may be hard for u to comprehend Jason, but the problem with war in recent history is that the motives of those participating are not what we are led to believe. Take the war raging now with the 'terrorists'.

America has solved nothing, brought no peace, lowered no death counts.

What America has done is to take a region that wasnt growing poppies, and create a situation where they would be grown in huge numbers. The one thing America has achieved is to INCREASE the amount of drugs on the planet. Sounds like vietnam huh? Drugs drugs drugs

? I did not say one thing about the current war. I was talking about the concept and purpose of WAR. I gave no specifics and chose no war as an example. You have chosen those elements. It is true that there is a major problem with the process war is made today. It is also true that it would change if WAR had to be carried out by those who declare it. In the bible those who choose to wage war must fight it. The government would think tens of time longer if all of them had to lead the armies into battle instead of sending others children to battle for there gain. But tht is a differant topic than we had started to chat about. I am more than willing to talk about proper ways to declare war but once war is chosen it a a clear and fast thing to be done. No media no chats just brutal death till its over. Then we go back to true peace. When your foe knows that every male among you wil rise up and fight if they are threatend there will be very few wars. Its when you have a split up people that wars come more often. Beacuse the foe has better odds against smaler numbers. You want peace make your foes fight us all. It is like going to war with China if they had the same tech as us. Why would we pick a fight with one 30 times our number? Thats stupid. WAR must be brutal and fierce to those who fight it so that they seek to prevent it for as long as they can. Only those who have faught in wars truly know why you dont want to have them. Yet they are the only path to true peace. Only because mankind is a very stupid creature. Yet thats what we have to deal with.
