Greetings and an offer from the Belkan Air Force
« on: May 11, 2010, 04:29:23 AM »
Greetings, XBLS.
I'm The Baron, the flight lead of Grun Squadron and the Online Air Commander for the Belkan Air Force.

I don't know if some of you have heard of us, but if you have you know we were formed on Ace Combat Skies several years ago and have continued to endure as a major force in the AC6 online community. Well, our members are itching for some activity beyond Modern Warfare 2 and we're thinking of picking up more time on Ace Combat 6. Unfortunately, there isn't much going on at Ace Combat Skies and we thought that it would be nice if we branched out into the other active online Ace Combat community for a change.

So this is sort of an introduction, but more of an invitation for everyone here on XBLS to fly with another squad.

The BAF isn't too serious about everything regarding matches and tourneys. We just like getting on AC6 and having a good spirited match with good pilots. We do have our preferences regarding some of the gameplay aspects, but we're flexible and hope that in any future engagements we can work things out on a match by match basis to make everyone happy.

So I extend this invitation to all of you at XBLS:
The BAF would like to begin flying with and against squadrons here in an effort to increase activity in all of our squads. Later in the summer (within the month) the BAF will be better prepared to host some matches with squadrons here and get to know you. If you wish to take us up on our offer, please express interest here and state your squad.

And please add me to your XBL friends lists if you desire to fly in the future.
My GT is "K Man3537"

Thank you.

welcome, as you can see we are in the middle of a tourney right now. i have never flew with your squad but i have heard of your squad.

i am the rep. for the ACES SQUADRON depending on what type of rules you like to play with we may be interested in flying a few matches against you later this summer.

after a month or two break after the tourney we might do a few squad matches. i am starting to get a few squad match request. stay here long enough and we might set something up.

i visit ace combat skies sometime and found that that site is kinda hard to understand.

ACS has divulged into nothing more than spam and general silliness. Very little in the way of squad activities are going on now. I think it's because AC6 got a bit stale for everyone.

But now the BAF has a renewed interest in it. And I assume that this tourney is XBLS-wide? Everyone is participating?

And you asked about rules, normally the BAF operates thusly:
No novice controls, no NPC or ESM, no idolmasters. Weapons restrictions vary from match to match, but I've found that I personally have the most fun in a level 2 weapons match.

That's how we fly our Team Battle matches generally. But now that we're branching out here we'd be willing to make some concessions in what we allow so we can step out of our comfort zone and play some new people.

as long as you don't ask for all of those rules at once we can work something out to have a squad match.

Eh, I don't do 1v1s.

And we certainly may work something out. Like I said, negotiating rules comes in before the tourney.
We usually just fly for fun. No real bracket things, nothing more than just keeping track of points when it comes to winners/losers, no rewards to winners. Just fun. If it's not fun to play the game, there's no point in doing it.

Just for an example, the last match we played had a rotating weapons/plane restriction:
Round 1: weapons 2, planes 1
Round 2: weapons 2, planes 2
Round 3: weapons 3, planes 3
Round 4: weapons 3, planes 2
Round 5: weapons 3, planes 1

It was fun for all and really made sure that everyone had a plane in all tiers they were familiar with. I'm a big fan of versatility and don't really have one specific plane I fly. In AC6 I tend to stick to the Su-33, Mirage, F-15E and Typhoon. But mostly the first two.

EDIT:
And is there a rundown of all the squads and their rosters active here? I'd like to sort of keep a record of who it is I'm interacting with.

And just adding, BAF likes doing more than just deathmatches. We'd love to branch out into Siege matches, and by the look of your tourney page, this will work well.
