I wonder if all the competition has made the AC6 community a better place?

Let's be clear, I play hard and I play to win, but... I play for the fun of it. I try to play with respect and I expect the same in return.

Crank up the wayback machine...

Most everyone played ranked
We took the games pretty much as they were
We made friends and played together, but nobody boosted
We played ALL the maps
Many of us ended up ranked, some on all 13 maps
The leaderboards were reset and many of us ranked again
There was pride in 1000 gamer points
People talked to each other, not just trash, but constructive help for new players

And then things started to change –
Player matches, party chat, squads, bragging rights, huge egos, one trick pilots, tricked out rules for matches, name calling, open rooms with no conversation, experienced players trying to gang up on nubes, and so on

The AC6 community is unique.  It has been and can continue to be a higher level of gaming. With good people, great skills, unique squads. Play hard but let's keep it that way.

It's good to see someone remembers the good old days. I actually never saw them because I signed on with the Angels only a few short weeks before the Great Schism, as I like to call it, that took XBLS off the main map, then proceeded to shred what was left of the AC community. Now a lot of people have left for the FPS kingdom, and we only hear from the 4 or 5 regulars that hang around these forums, most of which are the people that built the site on which we post. But maybe we will see all that come back when AC:AH comes out, and I'll see what the community was like in its heyday. Until then, I just make do.

I hope to see you all in some great games next year. I will be among the first to pick up the game, no doubt about that, and when I do, I have high hopes.

The good ole days will return and it will make us even better than before. We have learned from those wars of skill and words. We all know the players and pilots no matter the tag they use now. Its the same guys at the top it always has been. Some new players have emerged and some old ones have come back for a bit. But the strength that we are able to display is still here. We just need a rally war cry or a injection of fresh blood for the community to breath with new life and great conversations once again. It is mostly the state of the worlds cashflow that has us spending less time on these forums and more time at work or with friends and family. We will always put first that which matters most to us all. Trust me when I say we are not dead just resting for the next battle. It was a hard battle with DoCs last tourney and several members are just in break mode. They will be back when they get the rest they need. Just wait and see. About another month or so and you will get a small jump for a week or so and then another in a week or two after that then the winter hits and we all get gaming and chatting again getting ready for the spring release dates we are watching for.

"The good ole days will return"

I hope so. The latest insult is having to justify being on a leader board. I spent a considerable amount of time the other night trying to tell some players that not EVERYONE cheated or boosted to get on there. They insisted that NO ONE could be on a board without having cheated. No doubt some/many? have, but I have not. My gamer tag has been OTG NADC for a very long time for very good reason. NADC stands for "Not A Decorated Cheat". Those that did boost, and I think we all know who they are, not only pushed those players who earned their slots off the boards but discouraged any players future efforts to get ranked. In short, a large part of the game was rendered useless. I admit it is ancient history bringing all this crap up again, but I didn't bring it up. I only wanted to play the game and instead ended up in a verbal pissing match. I left the match to play the campaign. At least no one talked back or insulted me!

Who made the comment to you? I will seek them out and trash there life as long as they play thew game. Its one thing to pick on those who prey on the week but to insult a true ace who earned his rank and skill from practice and effort. That is war in my mind. Plus we need a good war to get the blood pumping every few months on the game. Keeps us at the peak of our skill.

If you every need a winman to deal with these punks. The Dark Angels are up for a fight. We need some fun to stretch out fingers a bit. hehehe

I'm not sure you can blame peeps doubting him, or anyone else for that matter.

Everyone knows the boards were incorrect, they know about boosting. And those who choose to boost..were..."ace" gamers as well, from the rumors I heard.

Declaring WAR on doubters is like Art Machine drinking gasoline...pissing on a fire, and then upset it blew his prick apart. hehehe....
That's why I never bothered, and if I have played a ranked match, I was invited to it..but it was not to put my name on the board..which surely it isn't. You can War on the Boosters..but I don't think you can rightly War on the Doubters. And if he does get any shizen for it...I'm sure he can fight his own battles...after all, if you play ranked, you got to expect that anyway..don't you? lol!

Getting upset about ranked matches this late into the issue, is like bitching about the lack of water in a desert. I mean..all who Know Art Machine..already appreciate his skill, whether his name is on some knuckle headed board anyway. I'm happy to hear he is there..and he done it the hard way to. Thats very cool.

But in those regards...I dont remember "The good ole days" ever including the Leaderbaords. At least not since Dec of 2007 anyway. So..nothing gained..nothing lost. In my book.

i have to agree with doc on this one. but when i came in this game, the leader board was filler with true aces. i mean if i fight any of the people originally on top of the leader board right now, it would be one hard battle.

I miss the good old days. The game was definitely better back then compared to right now.

in human years, this game is about 90 years old. most games don't last 2 years let alone 3 going on 4 and still strong. but the old days was the funniest.

Aww lets just have some fun and get some guys posting again in the buildup for HAWX2 & AC/AH. We need to get our blood going just a tad to be ready for the first wave of fun. My post was & is 90%, 5% picking & 5% fight. SO lets go with the goof part and just play along with this guys idea of there being no way to earn a rank. It will give us something to do while we wait for the next game, plus it will be fun to see all the battles. We don't have to bring it here just fly and kill him then send a note hehehe. All in fun and only for kicks. 

But if no one wants to thats fine I can go sit in the corner again if needs be.......

Just to be sure...I am a 90% goof picking a fight. hehehe
