Hey NC. I hear ya on the stupid thing. My little brother is on his second deployment, first with the Screaming Eagles 101st and now with 422nd ESB as an NCO. I thought for sure He would be a lifer, as it is now, He is slated for OCS after His current tour ends. I talked to Him last week and was shocked to hear He is thinking about getting out because, and I quote "I am sick of being forced to work with idiots...!". I told Him that's exactly why He should go to OCS, He is over almost 200 troops right now doing E-7 and E-8 work. We need some Brass like Him, nothing worse than useless brass...lol. Take care NC...and thank you for your service brother!

HEH~! THATS WHAT YOU AND HE THINKS!!! trust me, i've seen that stupidity not only runs deep in the ranks of enlisted but that of officers as well! trust me, stupidity, while it runs deep, also is higher than any sky! if u try and use chains of logic, u'll only be chaining the uncatchable sky! no matter how high u fly or how high u try to chain it, THE SKY CANT BE TAMED!!! oh, and if i'm right, he'll need all the luck at ocs, its a real bitch~fest, YA-HA~! tell him to either put up with it or expect to be like the rest, trash that gets kicked around with no hope of escaping the incinerator!

It's true that there are idiots in all professions. No matter how high you go up, or how low you go down the chain, there will always be somebody who has no idea how stupid they are.

With that said, allow me to use one of my favorite quotes.

"You can't run from trouble. Ain't no place that far." Unknown

That means that if your reason for leaving a place is you don't like working with stupid people, then there is no place on Earth that will meet your standards. So take a job for what it is, stupid and smart people alike, and make the best of it. So Jimbob, I would encourage your brother to stay the course, because even with all the idiots, becoming an officer is a tremendous achievement, and he shouldn't let a few idiots take away his shot a better life.
